CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Chicopee Comprehensive girls soccer team Monday scored in the final minutes of the game to break a scoreless tie and went on to a 1-0 win over Pittsfield.

Harolyn Castillo made 13 saves for the Generals, who were outshot, 14-4.

“While Comp outshot us, I am extremely proud of our effort and aggressiveness all over the field,” Pittsfield coach Molly West said. “Unfortunately, we gave up a goal with 4 minutes remaining in the game off of a deflection. So, after working so hard all game, that is defeating, but hard to fault the efforts of our team, including stellar play by senior captain Harolyn Castillo, sweeper Hannah Dalton and Stopper Brooke Wong.”

Pittsfield (7-5-2) hosts Taconic on Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. at Berkshire Community College, the first game of a girls-boys city rivalry double-header.
