Wahconah Tops Westfield in Four Sets

DALTON, Mass. – Wahconah senior Melaina Haczela passed out 34 assists Monday in a four-set Senior Night win over Westfield.

 

Haczela also delivered three kills and served an ace in the 19-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-10 win.

 

Her classmate Taea Cunagin led the way with 17 kills and pulled up seven digs. Senior Emma Jacinto finished with 10 kills and a pair of blocks.

 

Alex Rougeau had a strong all-around game with nine kills, seven digs and three aces.

 

“Wahconah faced a very good Westfield team,” coach Dave Lussier said. “Set scores were back and forth for the first three sets. Behind some improved serving and passing, Wahconah stretched the lead in Set 4 to win by 15.”

 

Wahconah (11-3) goes to Lenox on Tuesday.
