Wahconah Advances Past Chicopee

DALTON, Mass. – Taea Cunagin had eight kills Monday to lead the Wahconah volleyball team to a three-set win over Chicopee in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B Tournament.

 

Cunagin also recorded five digs in the 25-22, 25-21, 25-15 win.

 

Emma Jacinto had six kills and served a pair of aces. And Melaina Haczela distributed 21 assists and served three aces.

 

Second-seeded Wahconah (13-6) will host sixth-seeded Taconic in the regional semi-finals on a date to be announced. The Thunder Monday upset No. 3 Baystate Academy, 3-2.
