Taconic Seeks Boys Soccer, Volleyball Coaches

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Taconic High School invites applicants for the positions of head volleyball coach and boys varsity soccer coach for the 2020-21 school year. 
 
The volleyball caoch will be responsible for managing, organizing, and administering all phases of the girls volleyball program in accordance with MIAA regulations. The head coach must have a commitment to administering a competitive program that emphasizes integrity, and the educational and personal welfare of its student-athletes. Additional responsibilities also include coaching effectively in practice and successfully in games, recruiting female athletes currently enrolled at Taconic, overseeing booster club and fundraising activities, and managing equipment inventory.
 
The soccer coach will be responsible for providing leadership to a re-building program. Ability to teach fundamental soccer techniques, playing rules, and game strategies is required. Responsibilities include coordinating assistant and junior varsity coaching staff, overseeing booster club initiatives, and managing equipment inventory.
 
For either position, excellent communications skills, ability to work effectively with staff, and a philosophy consistent with the mission and goals of the school is expected. Candidates should have the ability to convey messages of sportsmanship, work ethic, and responsibility to one’s team.   
 
Experience as coach at the high school level is preferred, but not required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
