Spartans Remain Atop Team Standings

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Monument Mountain girls and boys Alpine ski teams Wednesday each took first place for the second week in a row to open the Berkshire County League season.

 

Loghan Strzepa, Annette Boyko and Grace Soule finished second, third and fourth, respectively, to lead the Spartan girls to victory.

 

In the boys slalom race, Kitson Stover placed third, and Declan Logan and Bronly Boyd each finished in the top 10 as Monument Mountain earned a narrow victory over runner-up Lenox.

 

Taconic’s Keeghen Scott earned his first individual win of the season, edging Wahconah’s Mitchell Scalise by just less than a second.

 

The fastest girl at Bousquet on Wednesday evening was Lenox’s Maddie DiGrigoli, who finished six seconds ahead of the field and led the Millionaires to a second-place finish in the team race.

 

Next Monday, the county’s teams will be back at Bousquet for Week 3 and a giant slalom race.
