Beany Pitches McCann Tech Baseball to First Win

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Nick Mroz went 2-for-3 with a double, and the McCann Tech baseball team Friday held of Smith Vocational to earn a 5-3 win.
 
The Hornets (1-1) led, 4-0, after five innings, but the Vikings put up three runs in sixth to draw within a run.
 
In the top of the seventh, Andrew Levesque drove in Omar Uqdah with a go-ahead run.
 
Jeremy Beany and Owen Gagne each doubled.
 
Beany earned the win on the mound with nine strikeouts over five innings. Matt Jette and Jared Blondin combined on two innings of relief without allowing an earned run.
 
McCann Tech hosts Commerce on Tuesday.
