Eagles Pound Northampton Behind Taliaferro

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Darius Taliaferro went 3-for-5 with a home run and a pair of doubles Friday to lead the Mount Everett baseball team to a 13-3 win over Northampton.
 
Brady Carpenter went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, and Levi Boardman was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and stole three bases in a 15-hit attack for the Eagles.
 
Mount Everett jumped on top with a three-run first that featured a two-run double from Carpenter.
 
It took an 8-0 lead with a four-run fourth, when Taliaferro doubled in a run.
 
Brodie Kinna went five innings on the mound, striking out nine and walking three to earn the win. Johnny Ireland finished up with two innings of one-run relief.
 
Mount Everett (3-0) hosts Lenox on Tuesday.
