Flower Dominant in Win over Mounties

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Wilson Flower allowed just one run on two hits through six innings, shutting down the Mount Greylock baseball team in the process of a 9-1 win for Monument Mountain on Friday. 

The Mounties (2-5) were outhit 15-2 in the game and fell behind 6-1 after the first four innings. Junior Nick Zimmerman took the loss for Greylock, allowing eight earned runs on 11 hits through four plus innings of work. Junior Avery Cunningham looked good in his one inning of relief, which was one of the lone bright spots on a day when the Mounties committed five errors in the field. 

John Kinne had three hits and two RBI to lead the Spartans, while his brother Bobby also chipped in with two hits and two runs batted in. Zimmerman and Tommy Nowlan were the only Greylock players to collect hits off Wilson on the day. 

The Mounties next play at Lee at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
