Pittsfield Baseball Rolls Over Westfield in Opener

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Jon Halse went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI Thursday to lead the Pittsfield baseball team to an 11-3 win over Westfield.
 
Carter Matthews went 2-for-4 and scored a pair of runs, and Ryan LaPierre went 2-for-4 in a 10-hit Pittsfield attack.
 
Hunter Potash earend the win on the mound with five innings of work.
 
Potash struck out three while walking one and allowing just two hits and no runs.
 
LaPierre finished up, allowing three runs while fanning three.
 
The Generals (1-0) host Springfield Central on Friday on Pellerin Field at Clapp Park.
