NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Darian Tovani scored two goals and assisted on two more, and Keegan Dellaghelfa stopped seven shots Friday to lead the McCann Tech boys lacrosse team to a 7-4 win over Granby.

“Big win for McCann,” McCann Tech coach Paul Lange said. “The boys all played hard today, worked together, once we started sharing the ball and seeing the open guys that’s when we started scoring more and building and protecting the lead. Our defense and goaltending was solid and kept their top scorers from making a difference.”

Colby Ghidotti and Evan Knapp each scored a pair of goals, and Matt Dellaghelfa scored a goa in the win as the Hornets (5-3) outshot the Rams by a margin of 25-11.

“Granby’s goalie is young but he was outstanding,” Lange said. “The boys were pumped up for the win because it’s the first time in three years we’ve beaten them and it slid us into sole possession of second place in the Suburban.”

McCann Tech goes to Berkshire Community College to play Taconic on Monday.
