DALTON, Mass. – Anna Doyle scored in overtime Wednesday to give the Wahconah girls lacrosse team a 7-6, comeback win over Amherst-Pelham.

Brooke Harrington scored three times and assisted on two goals, including the game-winner, as Wahconah came out on top in a game that started on Sunday.

Due to unplayable conditions, the game was stopped at the end of the third quarter with the teams tied, 5-5.

Amherst made the return trip on Wednesday and scored a fourth-quarter goal to go ahead.

But with 20 seconds left in regulation, Harrington converted an 8-meter try to force OT.

“In overtime Chloe DiFazio came up with the draw,” Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. “We went down and set up our offense and Mia Thomas had a really nice shot on goal. It was saved by the goalie and went out of bounds and we ended up with possession. Brooke Harrington took it behind and found Anna Doyle who converted on a nice shot to clinch the overtime goal.”

Doyle finished with two goals. Brooke Thomas and Mia Thomas had a goal apiece.

Phalyn Renderer made seven saves, and Budaj credited Gianna Heilbroun with helping to control the Hurricanes’ top scorer.

Wahconah (7-5) hosts South Hadley on Friday.
