Meyette Leads McCann Past Mount Everett

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Paige Meyette went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs Monday to lead the McCann Tech softball team to a 12-6 win over Mount Everett.
 
Shaylee Lawson was 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs.
 
Emma Lemire and Alexis Lemanski split time in the circle, combining to strike out seven for the Hornets, who took an 8-5 lead with a three-run fifth inning and put the game out of reach with a four-run sixth.
 
“Great game on Senior Day,” McCann Tech coach Robin Finnegan said. “Back and forth and then we had some key hits.”
 
Emily Steuernagle went 2-for-4 with a double for the Eagles.
 
Julia Devoti was 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs and struck out six in a complete-game effort in the circle.
 
Mount Everett (5-8) goes to Monument Mountain on Wednesday.
 
McCann Tech (8-4) is home on Tuesday against Chicopee Comprehensive.
