MONTAGUE, Mass. – Turners Falls’ Madi Liimatainen struck out 15 and allowed just one hit Monday to lead the Thunder to a 1-0 win over Mount Everett in the Western Massachusetts Class D Quarter-Finals.

Liimatainen also tripled and scored the game’s only run, helping her outduel Mount Everett pitcher Julia Devoti.

The run came home on an error in the bottom of the third, meaning that Devoti allowed no earned runs in the complete-game loss.

She struck out three and walked three for the Eagles.

Stella Lennex had the lone hit for Mount Everett. She also worked two of five walks allowed by Liimatainen.

Top-seeded Turners Falls moves on to face No. 4 Hopkins in the regional semi-finals on Friday.

Mount Everett (6-9) waits to hear its final regular season opponent.
