PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Taconic softball team Friday mounted a three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh but could not catch Hopkins Academy, which escaped with a 13-12 win.

Ella Stodden doubled in a run, and Abby Soto doubled in two runs in the seventh inning rally, but Hopkins pitcher Cassie Dion got a fly ball to second base to end the game with Soto on second.

Kylie Duhamel went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles to lead the Thunder’s offense. Mollie Crawford went 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Soto finished the day 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Taconic (2-3) looks to snap a three-game skid on Monday at home against Monument Mountain.
