Eagles Soar into Semi-Finals
SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Brady Carpenter Wednesday had a double-double to lead the Mount Everett boys basketball team to a 52-39 win over Monson in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class D Tournament.
Carpenter scored 18 points and grabbed 19 rebounds for the Eagles, who led by nine at half-time.
“We got off to a slow start, and unforced turnovers led to low offensive production,” Mount Everett coach Jowe Warren said. “Defensively, we stayed locked in the majority of the game.”
Guthrie Davis scored 14 points, and Darius Taliaferro added 11 in the win.
Second-seeded Mount Everett (17-2) moves on to host No. 3 Libertas Charter, an 82-62 winner over Veritas Charter on Wednesday, in the regional semi-finals on Friday night.
