GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Khalil Carlson scored 25 points, and the Monument Mountain boys basketball team played lockdown defense to earn a 76-26 win over Baystate on Thursday night.

Monument Mountain took control of the game with a 21-0 run that spanned the first and second quarters to open a 30-10 lead.

“Our defense turned into offense and helped spark that run,” Spartans coach Randy Koldys said.

“We did a good job contesting not only their perimeter shots but their paint attempts to hold them to 26 points.”

Manny Brown scored 11, and Luke Arienti added eight as 10 different Spartans made a mark in the scoring column.

Monument Mountain (8-0) goes to Springfield on Monday for a rematch against Baystate.
