Greenfield Girls Hold Off McCann Tech Comeback Bid

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Racquel Provost scored 18 points Thursday to lead the Greenfield girls basketball team to a 52-44 win over McCann Tech.

 

The Hornets trailed, 40-27, going to the fourth quarter but cut the deficit to four points. The Green Wave made its free throws down the stretch to survive with the win.

 

“We played hard against a very strong Greenfield team,” McCann Tech coach Kathy Budaj said. “It was nice to see the girls step up and play a great game. We have had some injuries and the girls who stepped in did a fantastic job.”

 

Izzy LaCasse scored a game-high 19 for McCann Tech, which got nine points from Grace Towler and eight from Macey Tatro.

 

The Hornets (2-3) host Pioneer on Friday.
