BCHS Presents 'Sailing Towards My Father'The performance takes place at Herman Melville's historic home Arrowhead at 5:30 pm.  BCHS Hosts Author Lorraine GermanThis free event will take place at Herman Melville's historic barn at Arrowhead beginning at 5:30 pm. Reservations are not required. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing.  BCHS Pub CrawlThe event, which is presented in partnership with Berkshire Mountain Distillers, will explore various aspects of downtown Pittsfield history paired with themed cocktails and craft beer served at downtown pubs.  BCHS Lecture on Early History of Brewing in PittsfieldThe presentation will be followed by a tasting from Berkshire Brewing Co., Hot Plate Brewing Co., and Shire Breu-Haus at Berkshire Theatre Festival's "The Garage" at 111 South Street.  Berkshire County Historical Melville Fellows To Present Written WorksThe free readings take place at the Berkshire Athenaeum at 5:30 pm; reservations are not required. In addition, both fellows will present original artwork inspired by their time at Melville's home. Berkshire County Historical Society Architectural and Agricultural WalkLong-time Arrowhead tour guide John Dickson will begin with an enlightening tour of the Arrowhead grounds providing an overview and evolution of the architectural features of the building from the 1780s to the present. |
