ADAMS, Mass. — A street fair will be held in the Visitors Center parking lot on Sunday, Aug. 15, from noon to 7 p.m.
The new event is designed to honor Adams first-responders with all proceeds from vendor fees going toward them..
"We feel as though they do so much for us and no one really gives back to them," Chairman of the Adams Street Fair Committee Joe Martin said. "This is our way of thanking them."
Martin said there will be food, games, music, and vendors.
Vendors interested should contact Martin at 413-212-095.
He said first-responders can use the proceeds in whichever way they want.
"I know the Police Department likes to give scholarships and the Fire Department needs equipment," he said. "And they deserve it because they were out there during this whole COVID thing risking their lives and their family's lives."
The committee is co-chaired by Leann Olson O'Brien. More information can be found on the group's Facebook page.

BArT to Host Salvadoran Poet and Literary Activist
ADAMS, Mass. — BArT Charter Public School is hosting poet and activist Javier Zamora as a part of their Creative Leaders in Residence program (CLRP).
CLRP brings voices to BArT to share their work through lectures, performances, or readings with our students and the community. Connecting BArT and its students to the world and the world to the School is an important part of the BArT ethos.
In addition to spending time with BArT students in a number of their classes during 3 school days, Mr. Zamora will deliver a public performance at 7:00pm on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021 via Zoom.
That performance, "BArT Presents: Javier Zamora," is free and open to the public; pre-registration is required. Register by clicking here or by visiting the News & Events page at www.BArTcharter.org. Any questions should be directed to leah.thompson@BArTcharter.org.
