Hoffmann Bird Club Field Trips: Steepletop

NEW MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Join the Hoffmann Bird Club and explore birding spots in the New Marlborough on May 11.
 
Steepletop is a Berkshire Natural Resource Council property in New Marlborough.  The property consists of wood roads and trails through deciduous and mixed conifer  forests.  
 
The terrain has easy, gentle grades with smooth footing.  Meet at the Steepletop, 648 North Road, New Marlborough.  
 
The tour starts at 8 am.

Lee High School Announces Graduation Speakers For 2024

LEE, Mass. — Allen Ni and Kira Johnson have been named the valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, for Lee High School's class of 2024.
 
Ni is the son of Kong Liang Ni and Wen Hui Zheng of Lee. He is a member of the National Honor Society, varsity tennis team, band, student government, GSA, quiz team, Social Justice Club, Let's Talk, and the class steering committee. He is a recipient of the Harvard Club of Western Massachusetts Book Award, Clarkson University Achievement Award, and the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents Academic Excellence Award.
 
He will be attending Boston University in the fall, studying computer science.
 
Johnson is the daughter of William and Mya Johnson of Lee. She is a member of the National Honor Society, band, cross country and track teams, drama program, Berkshire Youth Leadership Program, student government, Social Justice Club, GSA, and bowling team. She has received the University of Rochester Bausch & Lomb Science Award and the Dartmouth College Book Award. 
 
She will be attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute to study chemical engineering.
 
The 147th graduation exercises of Lee High School will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, at Tanglewood in Lenox.
