SteepleCats Blanked in Final Home Game

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Mike Jensen and Jack Niedringhaus Monday combined on a one-hitter to lead the Valley Blue Sox to a 10-0 win over the North Adams SteepleCats in the Cats' home finale.
 
Aedan Forde had the lone hit for North Adams.
 
Nick Balcom took the loss on the mound despite allowing no earned runs in five innings of work.
 
He left with a 2-0 deficit after five innings after giving up two of the five unearned runs generated by the Blue Sox.
 
North Adams (13-30) finishes the season at Danbury, Conn., on Tuesday.

SteepleCats Fall at Keene, N.H.

KEENE, N.H. -- The North Adams SteepleCats rallied for a pair of runs in the top of the ninth inning but fell to the Swamp Bats, 7-5, on Tuesday night in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Chris Diaz and Tony Woodie homered for North Adams, which gave up just four earned runs.
 
The SteepleCats (4-17) open the second month of the season on Wednesday night at the Valley Blue Sox.
