Dozens Compete in Fall Foliage 5K

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Joshua Miller Sunday won the annual Fall Foliage 5K, covering the course in just more than 21 minutes.
 
Miller hit the finish line in 21:05, setting a mile pace of 6:47, to win in a field of 35 finishers.
 
Second place went to North Adams’ Liv Dalton, who was the fastest female finisher with a time of 22:41.
 
Twenty men and 15 women competed in the race, part of the city’s Fall Foliage Festival. The race finished on Main Street just prior to the 69th Fall Foliage Parade.

SteepleCats Shut Out on Road

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
 
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
