Fairview Family Birthplace Receives PNQIN Clinical Team Award

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The Perinatal-Neonatal Quality Improvement Network (PNQIN) has recognized the Fairview Hospital Family Birthplace with a 2026 PNQIN Clinical Team Award.

The award recognizes a clinical team that has shown outstanding success in implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance perinatal health, with a focus on health equity and underserved or historically marginalized populations and including participation in a PNQIN collaborative.

According to PNQIN, the nominator "submitted compelling materials that demonstrate Fairview's meaningful participation in the PNQIN AIM Perinatal Mental Health Conditions Bundle collaborative and dedication to achieving measurable improvements in screening, early identification, coordinated care, and support for birthing people and their families. In addition, we congratulate Fairview on the impact your efforts have had on patient experience, with many patients reporting that they may not have sought help without the encouragement and guidance provided by your team."

Letter: Southern Berkshire Ambulance Expresses Gratitude for Support

To the Editor:

Over the next nine months, the Southern Berkshire Ambulance Squad (SBAS) will take delivery of two new ambulances, at a cost of roughly $1 million, to replace two vehicles that are very much on their last wheels. Lacking that $1 million, SBAS had to put out an emergency call of its own. I write to share the wonderful news that Berkshire Preservation Inc. (BPI) more than answered our call.

BPI's board, which includes Carole Owens, Louis Schroeter, Wende and David Carver, Nelson Furlano, and Todd Ehrlich worked tirelessly to organize a benefit concert at the Colonial Theatre that netted $98,877 for SBAS. We saw firsthand how hard they worked to bring it off, and we could not be more grateful to be the beneficiaries of their efforts and generosity.
