Vermont Man Wanted for Attempted Murder
State police are seeking the whereabouts of Alfred Craven. |
Law enforcement authorities have been unable to locate Craven since the incident was reported last Monday.
State police say Alfred Craven, 48, beat a 53-year-old Searsburg man so badly he suffered a skull and multiple facial fractures and a broken jaw.
According to Detective Sgt. James Wright, the victim walked into the Emergency Department at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington at about 7 p.m. on Sept. 4.
The victim, whose name is being witheld because of the "nature of the investigation," told state police that the incident had occured in Searsburg and that Craven had fled the scene. A warrant for Craven's arrest was issued.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Craven should contact state police at 802-442-5421 or local police department immediately.
Pittsfield Resident Suffers Multiple Gunshot Wounds
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Police say a 32-year-old resident was shot multiple times early Sunday morning.
According to a statement released Sunday morning, a Shotspotter activation sent police to 101 Fenn St. Officers confirmed a shooting had taken place near the Fenn and First Street parking lot.
The victim, a Pittsfield resident, had been taken to Berkshire Medical Center prior to the officers' arrival.
The Pittsfield Police Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Services responded and recovered numerous shell casings and other evidence. The incident remains under investigation.

Yoonsang Bae, 25, of Williamstown had a not guilty plea entered on his behalf on a single count of rape.
He was released on personal recognizance. The charge is in connection with an alleged incident in Williamstown on July 26, 2014. The alleged victim is a 22-year-old woman.
William Brown, 28, of Pittsfield had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on single counts of assault and battery by means of a firearm, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, illegal possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and resisting arrest.
He was ordered to be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without bail. The charges stem from an incident in Pittsfield on June 2, 2017 and allegedly involved a 23-year-old man.
Dustin Clark, 33, of New Ashford was found not guilty by a jury on two counts of rape and a single count of indecent assault and battery.
Clark was accused of sexually assaulting a woman who is now 28 years old on November 25, 2009.

Phone Scammers Target Pittsfield Residents
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Scammers are allegedly making phone calls that appear to come from the city to con residents.
The Police Department issued a release on Thursday saying that someone claiming to represent the "Vietnam Veterans Association of Massachusetts" has been calling people asking for money to donate for hurricane Harvey relief packages.
The alleged scammer is "masking" the phone number so that it appears to be coming from the city's Office of Veterans Affairs.
The department is telling people that those calls are not legitimate and "if a caller asks you to tape money to your door or leave it in your mailbox, you should be skeptical."
"If you want to provide support and relief to people impacted b natural disasters, please utilize legitimate and recognized national organizations or those specific entities that are identified b y the impacted municipalities. Please be smart with your support and donations," reads the statement from the Pittsfield Police Department.
