Teresa M. Jammallo, 94
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Teresa Mary Jammallo, 94, of 75 Veazie St. died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at her home.Born in North Adams on October 10, 1919, daughter of Joseph and Catherine Gerace Jammallo, she attended North Adams schools and graduated from the Drury High School in 1938.
Miss Jammallo was employed at the former Sprague Electric Co. for 41 years until her retirement in 1982.
A communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church and a past president of its St. Anthony Society, she was an active member of the church as a volunteer and chairman of its annual bazaar. A Eucharistic minister and a member of its Rosary Society, she also helped decorate the church with palms on Palm Sunday. She was also a member of the Sprague Quarter Century Club and the Sprague Retirees. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and knitting.
The last of her immediate family, she is survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, including her niece, Katherine Michalenko who was her caregiver.
She was predeceased by her siblings Angelena Colo, Mary Jammallo, Rita Maroni, Augustino Jammallo and Saverio "Sam" Jammallo.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Miss Jammallo will be celebrated Monday, July 28, at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday morning from 9 to 10:30 Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial contributions may be made to the Berkshire VNA & Hospice in care of the funeral home.
