I have replaced all the bulbs in my house with energy efficient ones (which at first accounted for a decrease in my bill). I do not use my dryer but hang clothes outside,I have not used my A/C this summer and this month my bill was up by $10.
I could not imagine why it should go up when I have been so careful. Well, with a closer look at my bill, the supplier fee had been raised. The Eagle on Monday, Aug. 25, ran an article about fees being reduced for commercial accounts and that [Western Mass. Electric Co.] supplied 220,000 accounts. At $10 an account that's a nice raise I would think.
I understand that the cost for them to supply electricity has gone up but we receive no explanation in our bill — just an increase and how can we hope to save no matter how conservative we are? Yes, the environment is better off, but our pocket books are a mess.
