Raymond Bliven
OTIS, Mass. — On May 28, 2018, surrounded by his family, Raymond Bliven passed away at Baystate Medical Center.
A lifetime resident of Otis, Mass., Raymond graduated from Lee High School in 1949. Throughout his lifetime Raymond worked many jobs including: demolition, hill foreman at the Otis Ridge Ski Area and custodian at the Otis Consolidated School. He retired from the school department in 1986.
He was a member of the Otis Kawanis Club and an advisor to the Builder’s Club. Raymond also served on the Zoning Board of Appeals. He was a long time member of the First Congregational Church in Otis.
Raymond was predeceased by his wife Patricia (Kent) Bliven and their son Raymond F. Bliven III.
He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Bliven of Otis, Abigail (Bliven) and her husband William Orr of Milton, Vt., and Florence (Bliven) and her husband Michael Pitoniak of Westfield Mass. He will also be fondly remembered by his four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral notice: A Memorial Service for Raymond Bliven will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the Kelly Funeral Home with Rev. Janet McKinstry, officiating. Burial will follow in the Otis Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday evening, June 12, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home.
