Steven J. Monterosso, 60

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Steven J. Monterosso, 60, of Pittsfield, Mass., died Friday, August 3, 2018, following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Steve was born in Pittsfield to Helen Lesniak Monterosso and the late Joseph Monterosso. He grew up attending Pittsfield schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1976. Steve worked as an auto mechanic for Pete's Motors for 31 years.

Steve took pride in being a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed hiking, fishing, hunting and a variety of sports in his younger years. He also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino. He was a dedicated father and family man. He had a wonderful sense of humor.

Steve is also survived by his loving wife and best friend, Robin, with whom he recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. He will be lovingly remembered by his three children, Genna L. (Michael) Rosani of New Jersey, and Steven M. and Bryan A. of Pittsfield. He leaves behind his sisters, Janice (Howard) Novak of Vermont, and Karen (Steve) Dow, and Vicki Wichmann, both of Pittsfield. He will also be missed by many aunts and his nieces, Ashley Wichmann and Jessica and Alex Novak. 

Funeral notice: Services for Steven J. Monterosso will take place Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 with the Rev. Monsignor Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor of St. Joseph's Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the family Plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. 

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, August 7, 2018, from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or Autism Speaks in care of the funeral home.
