Hellen Luscia, 93

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Hellen Luscia, 93, formerly of 114 Franklin St., died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at North Adams Commons. Born in North Adams on Dec. 10, 1919, daughter of Ralph and Mary Ford Baker, she attended Clarksburg schools and graduated from Drury High School. Mrs. Luscia worked in the Alumni Office at Williams College for 15 years. She also held secretarial positions at Cascade Paper and Rainford Manufacturing. She and her late husband, Ernest Luscia, operated the Luscia Press for 30 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Girl Scout Council for many years and of the Travel Club. She was a volunteer driver with the American Cancer Society and also volunteered for the American Red Cross and North Adams Regional Hospital. She and her husband were members of the North Adams Country Club for many years. Her husband, whom she married on Aug. 3, 1940, died on Aug. 23, 1992. She leaves nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Thelma Horahan, Stanley Baker and Warren Baker. FUNERAL NOTICE — A graveside service for Mrs. Luscia will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at 9 a.m. in Clarksburg Cemetery. At her request, there will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
