Stanley R. Baker, 82
CLARKSBURG, Mass. â€' Stanley Roy Baker, 82, formerly of 992 River Road, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.
He had been a resident of the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.
Born in Clarksburg on Aug. 21, 1924, son of Ralph and Mary Ford Baker, he attended schools there and in North Adams. He graduated from Tilton (N.H.) Preparatory School and attended Clarkson University.
He was a Navy Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Mr. Baker retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Andover, where he was an insurance salesman. He also worked at one time for Sentry Insurance Co. of Wisconsin.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in North Adams.
He leaves a brother, Warren F. Baker of Clarksburg, and a sister, Hellen Luscia of North Adams.
He was predeceased by his sister Thelma Horahan.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' The funeral for Mr. Baker will be Wednesday at 11 at AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., North Adams. Following the services, a reception will be held at North Adams Holiday Inn.
Burial in Clarksburg Cemetery will be in the spring. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Vermont Veterans' Home or to North Adams First Baptist Church through the funeral home.
