NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Angelina Virginia "Angie" Giusti, 85, of 655 Ashland St. died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Williamstown Commons, surrounded by her family.
Born in North Adams on May 3, 1928, daughter of Joseph and Maria Santorum Angeli, she attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1945.
Mrs. Guisti was last employed as the administrative assistant in the Psychology Department at Williams College, where she worked for more than thirty years until her retirement. Before that, she worked at the former JJ Newberry's on Main Street and for the former Massachusetts Electric Co.
She was an active communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, where she was a Eucharistic minister and a member of its Rosary Society. She was a volunteer at its annual bazaar and delivered meals for the church meals ministry. She was also a member of the Adoration at the church and a former president and treasurer of the North Adams Garden Club.
She enjoyed travel and gardening and especially enjoyed her daily walks on Ashland Street.
Her husband, Dante Francis Giusti, whom she married on Nov. 3, 1951, died on June 24, 1983.
She leaves her sister-in-law, Nancy Andreatta and her husband, Robert, of North Adams; nieces and nephews including David Angeli, George Angeli, Claire Angeli, Jean Noel, Kathy Stewart, Rosemary Buzzell, and Patricia Randall, and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her three brothers Louis Angeli, North Adams Police Officer George O. Angeli and Mario Angeli.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Giusti will be Friday, Jan. 24, at 10:15 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Jan. 23, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Conference at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in care of the funeral home.
