Helen E. Koloc, 87
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. â€' Helen E. Koloc, 87, of 101 Harris St., died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at home.
Born in North Adams on Sept. 5, 1919, daughter of Frederick D. and Louise Eaton Eldridge, she attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1937.
Mrs. Koloc was a homemaker. Later, she was employed in the business office of the family-owned K-M Motors, retiring in September 2006.
She was a member of the former First Universalist Church, volunteered at North Adams Regional Hospital and was a member of the Cheero Club. She also was a member of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution. A devoted mother, she raised her children until they were grown.
Her husband, longtime North Adams businessman Henry Irving Koloc, whom she married Dec. 29, 1939, died July 27, 1991.
Mrs. Koloc leaves three daughters, Nancy Koloc and Virginia Kondel and her husband, Gregory, all of North Adams, and Linda O'Keefe and her husand, Edmund, of Hudson, N.H.; a son, Richard Koloc and his wife, Judith, of North Adams; a sister, Barbara Davine of North Adams; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and her former daughter-in-law, Brenda Smith.
Her son Frederick J. Koloc died on Sept. 16, 1999, and her sister Dorothy Marchio on March 14, 2004.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' A private funeral for Mrs. Koloc will take place Saturday at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will take place in Southview Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home.
