Maureen L. Hynes, 55
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Maureen Louise "Moe" Hynes, 55, of 53 Brooklyn St., died peacefully, and surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield after a courageous 12-year battle with ovarian cancer.
Born in Syracuse, N.Y., on March 21, 1960, a daughter of Marylou Grande Hynes of North Adams and the late Richard J. Hynes, she attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1978.
Ms. Hynes was a valued member of Lavariere Plumbing and Heating Co. In her earlier years, she was employed at former Sprague Electric Co. and the former General Electric in Pittsfield.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially loved her niece and nephews. She also enjoyed golf, softball and bowling.
She treated everyone will kindness and respect and her beautiful smile was endearing and contagious.
Besides her mother, with whom she made her home, she also leaves her sister, Jayne Lavariere and her husband, Richard, of North Adams; her brother, retired Army Col. Michael P Hynes and his wife, Cheryl, of Stafford, Va.; her nephews, Gary Lavariere and Joshua Hynes, and her niece, Carrie Hynes.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Ms. Hynes will take place Thursday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's Church in North Adams.
Calling hours will be on Thursday morning from 9 to 10:30 at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
