WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Wai Yan Aung scored in the 79th minute Thursday night to break a 2-2 tie and send the West Springfield boys soccer team to a 3-2 win over Mount Greylock.

The Terriers’ Tyler Alsteda scored twice in the first 16 minutes to give the visitors the lead, but the Mounties (6-3-2) responded with goals from Quinn Johnstadt and Emmanuel Soza-Foias to tie it with 14 minutes left.

“We did well to to tie it up after conceding two to a very quick and strong West Springfield team,” Mount Greylock coach Blair Dils said. “The intensity on both sides was very high for an independent game. The final goal came just over a minute to play off a quick counter over the top.”

Sam Edge and David Falk split time in goal, combining for four saves for the Mounties.

Mount Greylock goes to Monument Mountain on Monday.
