WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Maire Scanlon scored a goal and helped anchor Mount Greylock’s defense in a 2-0 win over Pittsfield on Friday in the regular season finale for both teams.

Erin Keating scored the eventual game-winner midway through the first half with an assist from Lily McDermott.

But Pittsfield (0-15-1) frustrated the third-ranked team in the state in Division 5 most of the night.

It was not until the 77th minute that the Mounties got some breathing room when Lucy McWeeny set up Scanlon for an insurance goal.

Olivia Eakin did not need to make a save in Mount Greylock’s goal to earn the shutout win.

The Mounties (14-1) will open play next week in Western Massachusetts Class C tournament.

Pittsfield will be matched against another non-qualifier for the first of two games next week to finish the season.
