NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Greenfield’s Isaiah Morrison covered the Windsor Lake course in 17 minutes, 24 seconds Tuesday to lead his team to victory in a four-team meet hosted by McCann Tech.

Greenfield’s boys and girls swept the day with the boys earning 19 points and the girls 16 in a meet attended by Palmer and Granby.

Morrison and the Green Wave boys easily outpaced Granby (57 points), which edged Palmer for second place by two points.

Host McCann Tech’s boys were led by Billy Gallipeau with a time of 20:54.

McCann’s girls were led by Kayla Wilson, who finished in 27:08.

Greenfield’s Amy O’Sullivan led the girls field with a time of 19:30.

Second place on the girls side went to Palmer with 58 points. Granby was just behind with 61.

McCann coach Eileen Monyahan said the real hero of the meet was a McCann Tech parent and ER nurse who helped attend to a runner who needed to drop out of the race after the first loop.

“Special thanks to the North Adams ambulance service for getting up to Windsor Lake and transporting the girl to the hospital where she was later released,” Monyahan said.
