DALTON, Mass. -- Nate Dos Santos recorded four birdies Wednesday en route to a 4-under-par round of 31 that led the Wahconah golf team to a 181-211 win over Monument Mountain at Wahconah Country Club.

“The most spectacular round I’ve seen in 18-plus years of coaching,” Wahconah coach Pete Terpak said. “This day belongs to Nate Dos Santos.”

Dos Santos birdied the third, fifth, sixth and eighth holes.

“[Dos Santos’] game was solid from tee to green, and he was very relaxed with his putter,” Terpak said. “When Nate gets in a zone, he’s capable of going very low. … In true Nate fashion, he was only talking about the 4-footer he just missed on No. 7 which would have made him 5-under.”

Dos Santos was backed by Victoria Orlandi’s 47 and Cullen Harrington’s 49.

Monument Mountain was led by Ben Shultis with a 50 and Brady Whalen with a 52.

The county’s top individual golfers will compete for the Berkshire Classic title on Sunday in Stockbridge. Wahconah’s team is off until Tuesday when it hosts Taconic; Monument Mountain hosts Mount Everett on Tuesday.
