Gilooly Leads Mount Greylock Golfers over Drury

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Ben Gilooly carded a 40 Tuesday to earn medalist honors and lead the Mount Greylock golf team to a 172-231 win over Drury at Waubeeka Golf Links.
 
Gilooly’s round included a birdie on the par-4 second hole.
 
He was backed up by Tenley Smith’s 42, Connor Daley’s 44 and Braden Smith’s 46.
 
The day included a couple of individual highlights for the Mounties’ younger players. Jack Cangelosi carded a 56 in his first appearance in the varsity lineup, and alternate Alex Axt picked up his first career birdie on the par-3 third hole.
 
Drury’s Connor Kelly birdied No. 4 en route to a 57. The Blue Devils were led by Justyn Cowell’s 54. Davion Barton and Jonathan also scored for Drury, which hosts Mount Everett on Thursday.
 
Mount Greylock (9-1) goes to Lenox on Friday.
 
The Mounties also send Tenley Smith and Lillian Defrates to Thursday’s Western Mass Girls Championship at Elmcrest Country Club.
