Pittsfield Boys, Lenox Girls Excel at Monument Mountain

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Greg Fournier and Lucas Godwin finished 1-2 to lead seven Pittsfield Generals in the top 10 of Thursday’s cross country race at Monument Mountain.
 
Fournier finished in 17 minutes, 19 seconds, five seconds ahead of his teammate.
 
Jared Henry of the host Spartans finished third in 17:52.
 
Paul Wales, Noah Shepardson, Steve Taglieri, Adam Shepardson and Noah Kimba-Dimbitzer each finished in the top 10 for Pittsfield.
 
On the girls side, Lenox dominated despite resting No. 1 runner Emma Jourdain.
 
Millionaires sophomore Maggie Sorrentino placed first in 19:52. She was joined in the top 10 by teammates Marion and Ellen Huth in fourth and fifth, respectively, Alice Najimy in seventh and Tate Morrison and Alice Huth in ninth and 10th.
 
Grace Phair (20:16) and Joasmin Johannsdottir were second and third for the Spartans, who also saw Meryl Phair place sixth.
 
Pittsfield’s Lessley Columna (20:59) cracked the top 10 in eighth place. Hoosac Valley’s Jamie Barthe (21:36) finished 12th, while Janet Ngoyimwanza (26:16) led Mount Everett.
 
On the boys side, the first runner not from Pittsfield or Monument was Mount Everett’s Grayson Duval (19:13) in 16th place. Hoosac Valley’s Nolan Christen (19:35) was 23rd, and Lenox was led by Marshall Miles (20:51).
