BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -- Tyler Cote pitched the Drury High School baseball team to a 6-3 win over the Colonels in the Blue Devils' first action of the 2014 season.

Drury pounded out nine hits and led 4-0 before Brattleboro got a run across in the bottom of the fifth.

"This was a great way to start off the season," Drury coach Patrick Boulger said. "Our hitting was timely, and we got a 'bulldog' performance from Tyler Cote on the mound.

"We also had great contributions from a team concept where everybody accepted their role and played the game they were capable of. We got great contributions from seniors, including Tyler Briggs and Joe Liporace."

Drury hosts Mohawk on Friday.
