HADLEY, Mass. – Troy Tassone hit a two-run single in a five-run second-inning that sent the McCann Tech baseball team on to a 6-3 win over Hopkins Academy on Saturday.

Noah DeBenedetto also drove in a run in that rally, which gave McCann Tech an early 5-0 lead.

That was all the support starter Austin Buda and reliever Josh Livsey needed. The pair combined to strike out five, walk four and allow two earned runs in the win.

Aaron Livsey doubled, and Ty Barrett went 1-for-1 with a pair of walks in a seven-hit Hornets attack.

McCann Tech (4-2) goes to Smith Academy on Wednesday.
