Springfield Central Rallies Past Pittsfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Eliezer Rosario hit a two-run home run in a three-run sixth-inning rally Wednesday that lifted the Springfield Central baseball team to a 4-3 win over Pittsfield in the Generals’ season opener.
 
Pittsfield (0-1) took a 3-1 lead with two in the top of the fourth.
 
Cam Sime reached on a dropped third strike and scored on Tommy Mullin’s double to right to make it 2-1. Back-to-back walks to Jackson Almeida and Morrie Fried moved Mullin to third, and he scored on Charlie Heimann’s sacrifice fly.
 
Mullin and Nick Brindle accounted for Pittsfield’s two hits in the loss.
 
Sime and Ben Cornish split time on the mound, striking out six and walking five.
 
Pittsfield goes to Holyoke on Thursday.
