Pittsfield Blows Out Holyoke on Road

HOLYOKE, Mass. – Will Kinne doubled and drove in three runs Thursday to lead the Pittsfield baseball team in a 15-1 win over Holyoke.
 
The Generals worked 14 walks and made the most of their six hits in evening their record at 1-1 this spring.
 
Santino Arienti and Roshan Wariar each doubled, and Jake Duquette and Jackson Almeida each collected three RBIs.
 
Pittsfield jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first, when Duquette, Arienti and Kinne drew consecutive bases-loaded walks and Almeida drove a sacrifice fly to center field.
 
The Generals put the game out of reach with a nine-run third inning to take a 14-0 lead.
 
Collin Merwin, Brayden Gutzmer and Charlie Burega combined on a five-inning two-hitter on the mound, striking out five between them.
 
Pittsfield goes to West Springfield on Tuesday.
