Pittsfield Blows Out East Longmeadow

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. – Jake Duquette went 3-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBIs Tuesday to lead the Pittsfield baseball team to a 19-4 win over East Longmeadow.
 
Nick Brindle and Cam Sime each finished with two hits, including a double, in a 10-hit Pittsfield attack.
 
The Generals trailed, 4-2, until they exploded for nine runs in the fifth and eight in the sixth to put the game away.
 
Brindle and Sime each had an RBI double in the fifth-inning rally, which also saw Duquette, Roshan Warriar, Jackson Almeida and Ben Jacob pick up RBIs.
 
Collin Merwin and Brayden Gutzmer split time on the hill for PIttsfield, combining to strike out six. Gutzmer threw three innings of scoreless ball.
 
The Generals (3-2) host Wahconah on Wednesday at Clapp Park.
