Touponce Game-Winner Lifts Hornets Past Hurricanes

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Brody Rhinemiller made 15 saves, and Josh Touponce scored the game-winning goal Friday as the McCann Tech boys lacrosse team beat Hoosac Valley, 6-5.
 
Lucan McGrath and Parker Hart each scored twice, and Colby Marko scored a goal as McCann Tech won for the third time in four games.
 
“We just kept grinding away," McCann Tech coach Marshall Maxwell said. "Our kids busted their butts all over the field challenging all loose balls in their area. This was a complete team win created by effort.”
 
Neal Brierley and Owen Taylor each scored a pair of goals for Hoosac Valley.
 
Brady Auger scored a goal, and Max Griffin made eight saves in the loss.
 
Hoosac Valley (7-4) hosts Granby on Wednesday.
 
McCann Tech (5-5) hosts Lenox on Wednesday.
