CHICOPEE, Mass. – Three different players recorded hat tricks for the Wahconah girls lacrosse team in Friday’s season-opening, 9-2 win at Chicopee Comprehensive.

Claire Naef, Eva Eberwein, and Ava Massaro each scored three goals.

Eberwein also added an assist, and Paige Trager set up a goal.

Phayln Renderer made four saves to earn the win between the pipes.

“Great first game,” Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. “The girls kept improving as the game went along and seemed to get into a nice groove. The newer players were able to get involved and get their feet wet. Fantastic overall effort by all.”

Wahconah (1-0) goes to West Springfield on Monday.
