Mount Greylock Holds Off Mount Anthony for One-Goal Win

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Ainsley Abel had seven points, and the Mount Greylock girls lacrosse team Friday held off a late Mount Anthony comeback bid to earn an 11-10 win over the Patriots.
 
Abel scored four goals and assisted on three more to lead the Mounties’ offense.
 
Sarah Polumbo and Lexi Politis each had a hat trick, and Gianna Pesce scored a goal in the win.
 
Mount Greylock led, 6-3, at half-time.
 
Mount Anthony scored three goals in the last five minutes of play, two from Elyse Atland, who finished with four goals.
 
Christy Rech and Tiegan Brady combined to make seven saves in Mount Greylock’s goal. Rech also had six interceptions and four ground balls.
 
The Mounties (15-2) finish the regular season on Monday at Granby.
