SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Julia Devoti went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and drove in three runs Monday to lead the Mount Everett softball team to a 14-4 win over Southwick-Tolland.

Devoti also earned a complete-game win in the circle, striking out four and allowing three earned runs.

“Julia continues to impress me on the mound with her ability to throw strikes and limit opportunities for hitters,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. The defense is also playing well these past two games and that's evident in the results.

“Friday was tough, but Ludlow has the best pitcher we've seen to date. The magic number for us is four as that gets us into the state tournament regardless of seed.”

Aliyah Creamer went 3-for-4, Makayla Carpenter was 2-for-4 with a double, and Emma Goewey homered and drove in three runs in the win.

The Eagles (6-4) will look to trim their magic number to three on Wednesday when they host Drury.
