Pittsfield Softball Wins City Series, Stays Unbeaten

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Giuliana Pierce struck out 12 and walked just one Friday to lead the Pittsfield softball team to a 6-2 win over Taconic.
 
Pittsfield jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one half inning, and Pierce scattered five hits as the Generals stayed perfect at 17-0.
 
Britney Perkett and Natasha Shade each went 2-for-4 at the plate to spark Pittsfield's offense.
 
Aubrey Lazits was 2-for-3 with a triple, and Jenyka Ostellino and Gabby Puia each drove in a run for Taconic.
 
Taconic (6-12) goes to West Springfield on Tuesday.
 
Pittsfield faces a tough non-league test on Tuesday at Northampton.
