Late Score Lifts Mount Greylock Over Lenox

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Kayla Cerveira tripled and scored in the bottom of the fifth to break a 1-1 tie and send the Mount Greylock softball team to a 2-1 win over Lenox on Saturday.
 
Fiona Kelley struck out five and walked none to earn the win in the circle.
 
Lenox scored in the top of the first when Molly O’Brien drove home Anna Lynch with a single to right.
 
The Mounties answered right away when Elena Cerveira led off the bottom of the inning with a single, stole second and eventually came home on Olivia DiNiola’s sacrifice.
 
The score stayed 1-1 through the middle innings before Mount Greylock could push across the winning run.
 
The Mounties (4-4) won for the third time in four games going into Tuesday evening’s game at Taconic at the Doyle Softball Complex in Pittsfield.
 
Lenox (4-3) travels to Mount Everett on Tuesday.
